Falling Ahead to Autumn Training

I know that Fall is quickly upon us, but I am really going to miss you summer. You’re my favourite season and I just don’t know how to quit you. (wait, wasn’t that a line from Brokeback Mountain?) Anyways…..

Get ready for the Pumpkin Spice invasion. Kind of like the British invasion, only doused in the scent of pumpkin spice.  Gum, lattes, muffins, air fresheners and candles. No stone is left unturned in this marketing madness. What will be next? Pumpkin spiced underwear?  Well? Everything else is going pumpkin spiced. It doesn’t feel like it’s almost Fall because it has been very hot and humid this week but there is no denying that changes are coming. You can’t avoid the flora all around that solidifies the obvious. Fall is coming and soon.

With a new season, I think about my goals. What I hope to achieve and how will I achieve these goals? I have a bunch up my sleeve and I am really looking forward to getting started.

  • Hatha Yoga. I didn’t get in much Yoga in the summer, except with the Yoga Collective at home. I was focusing more on Pilates. I am planning on taking the 8:00-9:00pm Hatha class on Monday’s at the gym. It does wonders for my balance and keeping in tune with my body. I will also continue with my Kundalini meditation that I learned from Tenille’s class. This does wonders my for stress, anxiety and fretty Betty tendencies.
  • The new plan from Fitpeel!  I will begin a training program with a personal trainer. I talked about my plateau in a previous post. Not only does this include a full program geared to my goals, but it will also include help with meal planning.
  • Thanksgiving Dinner. This year instead of cooking and endless dishes, we have decided to enjoy a full course turkey dinner in wine country, Ontario. I am really looking forward to that. So yes, I am already planning a cheat meal.
  • 5K perhaps? I might be doing a turkey trot race with my niece if she doesn’t have to work that weekend. This goal is still on the shelf until further notice.

I really look forward to the coming season. Fall is up there in my favourites, right behind summer. When I say I love winter, hell will have officially frozen over.

What are your Fall goals?

  1. Pumpkin Spice is an American thing to me! I stick to cinnamon!

I’ll miss summer too. 2 season to go and counting until the next one! Until then, as always I’d like to make more time of yoga and enjoy the cooler temps for running in 🙂

    1. It certainly is a popular trend now. Pumpkin spice at every corner.
I like your thinking! Another summer is soon on the way. It is nice to hike and run in cool temperatures, and the leaves are so pretty.

      1. I’ll admit I like cooler temps to run or hike in. Cycling not so much as I have to carry around extra layers until it’s okay to wear them all the time! I won’t complain much as you can’t have everything!

  2. I LOVE that fall is in the air again! I need to pull out all of my fall decor and bake something pumpkin-y. I always love running a Turkey Trot and I really should include yoga in my regular rotation!

  3. Good luck with the Turkey Trot! Its already begun the great pumpkin invasion. Embrace it or Brace yourself! There are some great pumkin recipes on pinterest on my page if you need them. ARe you on pinterest?

    1. It’s the great spiced pumpkin, Charlie Brown! I am on Pinterest, but I hardly use that form of social media. I’ll be sure to follow you and check out those recipes.
      Thanks! I hope I can trot 🐔
